The Empire Strikes Back

Scene from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Oil on canvas, 18x24
after Irvin Kershner and Co.
I wanted to practice some oil painting. I got frustrated (and bored) with a still life I was working on so I did this instead. I know it's technically a copy of someone else's art (director Irvin Kershner and others who worked on the movie), but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

And here's a piece that I never posted on the blog that I did a couple of years ago. As an exercise in comic illustration, I drew one of my favorite scenes from Empire. It's rough--I drew it as fast as I could. It took about 2 hours.
