SILVER SURFER

I really abused the Pentel Brush Pen on this one. All of the black was inked with it. Somehow the brush is still keeping its shape! I'm impressed. The gray was done with a Copic marker.

BATMAN (and my new toy)

This was inked with a new toy--the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. I was able to make some nice lines on thefigure and the background was just quickly sketched to get more of a feel for the pen. The grays were done with a copic marker. It'll be interesting to see how the brush holds up over time since it stays saturated in ink. I'm impressed with the pen so far. I'm going to push it on my next piece and see how much abuse it can take.

IRON MAN IN CHARCOAL

Iron Man. Charcoal on paper. 18x24.
Haven't used charcoal in a while and I need to get a feel get used to it again for a class I'm taking. It's really a mess to use at home! I'm not sure why I decided to draw Iron Man to practice charcoal, but it was fun. I might have to do more of these.

WASP

I haven't done much in the way of female characters on this blog. I don't think the Avengers movie is going to have enough female characters, so I decided to draw the Wasp. I guess her powers would seem silly on film, but she probably should have been attempted for the movie. I think she was the character that named the team. Anyway, I went with the early costume. Also, I haven't mentioned this since it came out, but I loved Captain America: The First Avenger.

I'm planning on doing a bunch of black and white drawings. A 9x12 commission like this is $30 if you are interested. I'm also taking requests just to keep ideas coming and my pencil moving. See my last post for more info.
